The time slots for the oral exam are now available under "Oral exam". Notice that the first presentation on each day is at 14:00 and not at 14:30 as earlier stated. Further, the dates are June 19 and 20 and the location is room 108 in NHA.

The deadline for handing in your project report is May 29 at 1 PM (13.00). Hand in 2 copies of your project work at the reception of the Department of Mathematics (7th floor in Niels Henrik Abels hus). Opening time 9 AM-3 PM.

The oral presentation of the projects will be held on June 19 and 20 (the final time schedule for each presentation will be given at a later point). You will each have 30 minutes for your presentation, and there will be some questions afterwards.  Room 108 in Niels Henrik Abels hus is booked for both presentation days.

The supervisors can come to the presentation if they like, but they are not required to.

The list matching students and projects is now on the web page. All of you got one of the projects on your list, though perhaps not the first choice.

The next step of the process is to contact your supervisor.

Good luck, everyone!

LaTeX is already installed in all computers belonging to the Department of Mathematics. If you wish to install it on your personal working station or laptop, then you will need a TeX distribution to do so. We recommend TeX Live:

https://www.tug.org/texlive/

This works for MacOS, Unix, and Windows. Note that the installation can take up to an hour.

To write, you will also need an editor. Here is a list of available editors:

Unfortunately, I am much too ill to show up for the common session today. This means that there is no point in showing up in room B81 after the visit at the library. Instead, you should send me your prioritised list of projects by mail (ingrihaf@math.uio.no). Based on those, I will distribute the projects among you in the fairest way possible, and post the result on the website.

A list of projects and corresponding supervisors, as well as the project descriptions, are now available.

Read carefully through the project descriptions and make a prioritised list for next Wednesday (February 1). The selection of projects will be done after the visit at the library, at 14:15 in room B81 in NHA. If you cannot attend this, please notify me by e-mail.

Also bring a list of dates for the other exams you are taking this semester, so that we can find possible dates for the oral exam.

- The course will start on Wednesday 25 with information about the course and a presentation of possible projects.

- On February 1, you will get information on the library and its services from 12:15-14:00. Important: after the library session, we will meet in room 801, NHA, again at 14:15 to match students and projects/supervisors. This will probably not take all 45 minutes.
