October 11-12

This week, we followed the tentative plan closely, finished Chapter 5 and reached to the end of Theorem 6.4. I could solve December 2019 Exam, Problem 4 c,d parts, Exercise 5.11 a,b,c. Additionally, I showed memoryless  property of Exponential distribution (page 90), and told about Gaussian distribution on page 91, Example 2. Finally, without a proof, I mentioned about characteristic function of a r.v. with Normal distribution. Next week, tentative plan is starting with the rest of the solution of Exercise 5.11 and then, we will go further in the book by proving 6.1.1 Levy Inversion Formula and plan to reach to the end of Theorem 6.17. Planned exercises are the problems that I couldn't finish to solve at previous week, Exercises 5.10 and 5.12. I didn't decide yet but I will solve a problem from last years' exams.
