After consulting with the department administration, I have decided to hold both Monday and Wednesday parts of the course on campus.

The lectures will be on Wednesdays and the exercises - on Mondays. Each week, after the Wednesday lecture, I will publish numbers of exercises that will be solved on the following Monday. I encourage students to try and solve the exercises themselves beforehand. I will also update the course schedule with material covered on each day. Students that because of covid can¡¯t or don¡¯t feel comfortable coming to the campus, are welcome to send me their solutions or questions. If there is a need, I will schedule a consultation hour on zoom.

The student representatives for the course are Erik Martinez Jensen (erimart at math.uio.no) and Sigurd Fladby (sigurdff at student.matnat.uio.no)

We'll start with a short plan for the course, a probability theory recap and we'll begin chapter 2 of the book.

Welcome to STK3505/4505 course!

The first lecture is scheduled to be on Monday, August 17th, 14:15 - 16:00 in VB Auditorium 2.

The written material for the course is from the book:

Erik B?lviken (2014): Computation and Modelling in Insurance and Finance. Cambridge University Press.

We will go through chapters 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 if time permits.

This is a preliminary curriculum, there will be changes in the final curriculum.
