A revised version of the paper "Sequential optimization of oil production under uncertainty" is now available.
There will be a written exam on June 9. at 9.00 a.m.
Solutions to exercises 1.6, 2.4-2.10 and 2.12 will be handed out on the lecture on February 9.
Olav Breivik (olavnb@student.matnat.uio.no) has been selected as a representative for the students.
It is now decided that the lectures will be in the time interval 9.15-12.00 on Wednesdays.
Akademika has told that the textbook Natvig (2011) is under way and will arrive in a couple of days.
The book to be used in the first third of the course: Natvig, Bent (2011) Multistate Systems Reliability Theory with Applications, John Wiley & Sons. ISBN 978-0-470-69750-4 has now been sent to the author. Hence, it should soon be available at Akademika or elsewhere.
It is possible to move the last of the three study hours from 12.15-13.00 to 11.15-12.00. This would be advantageous for external people who have to be away from ordinary duties, but perhaps a bit more tiresome without a longer break. If you have views on this issue, please send Bent Natvig an e-mail (bent@math.uio.no).
