At the following links you can find the text of the exam and the sketch of its solution.
The results will be online between today and tomorrow.
Hi all,
There will be two "oracle sessions" before the exam, where you can come and ask any questions you might have. Both sessions will take place at room 819 in Niels Henrik Abels hus.
Session 1: June 8, 10 - 11 am, with Riccardo, Timo, and Per August
Session 2: June 10, 11 - 12 am, with Timo and Per August
Hi all,
Like last time, Timo and I will correct different exercises in the mandatory assignment. You might get feedback on some exercises before others. If so, do not worry – you will get feedback on all exercises.
PA
The second mandatory assignment is available at /studier/emner/matnat/math/STK4900/v22/eksamen/oblig_2.pdf.
The data are available in the course web page, at /studier/emner/matnat/math/STK4900/v22/data_2nd.html.
Remember that Problem 4 is mandatory only for PhD students (i.e., those who follow STK9900).
The deadline for the submission is the 21st of April (you got a bit more time due to the Easter holidays), in Canvas.
Dear students,
for the first assignment, Per August and I had split the exercises. Therefore, you got your feedback for different exercises at different points in time.
We will repeat the procedure for the second assignment as well. Thus, all comments, annotations, and the grade (pass/fail) will be added over the span of one week after you submission deadline. You do not need to worry if you only get feedback for a part of the exercises within this week.
If you did not receive the full feedback after one week of your deadline, please let us know!
Best regards,
Per August and Timo

Hi all,
From now on you can find the exercises by clicking the link at the bottom of the semester web page. Solutions will also be published here (after the exercise classes).
Also, I forgot to check in on Zoom during the "pen and paper" exercises today. My apologies. From tomorrow I will also be present on Zoom.
Per August
The lectures will be held physically both weeks.
We encourage the students to follow normal infection control measures during the lectures and to avoid participating in case of respiratory infections.
The lectures will be recorded and made available to those who will not be able to join the classes.
Welcome to STK4900/9900 in 2022! This year Riccardo De Bin will hold the lectures, while Timo Lohrmann and Per August Moen will act as TA and hold the exercise classes.
Organization
The course is given intensively over two separate weeks, week 7 (February 14th-18th) and week 12 (March 21st-25th).
As a preparation to the first part of the course, the students are encouraged to recapitulate the main themes of Chapters 6, 7, 10 and 11 in the course book for STK1000; see here for details (or the similar material in another introductory book in statistics).
We will have lectures every day from 9.15-12.00, then there will be a lunch break, followed by R-exercises and "pen-and-pencil exercises" in groups. The exercises are from 12.15-16.00. One group will hav...
