Welcome to STK4030. The first lecture will be August 26, at 0915 in B81.

The textbook will be: Hastie, T.J., Tibshirani, R.J. and Friedman, J. (2009). The elements of statistical learning: data mining, inference, and prediction. 2nd ed. Springer, New York.

Since this is a field where much has happened during the recent years, it is essential that we use the 2. edition.
