In exercise 1 d. the inequality in the claim in the last column of of the table should be < (and not >). The claim should be: beta1 < the mean of beta 2 and 3. (Corrected now Nov 28).
Due to the request of several students to give the solutions to week 48 exercises already now, I have put the solutions on the net today (Sunday).
It was pointed out that I had not answered the question in exercise Rice 3-10 (a) (week 38), whether X and Y are independent. It turns out that I unfortunately forgot that. I have now included an answer.
Remember that the venue of the lecture Thursday 2 November, 14:15-16 is moved to aud. 2 in Georg Sverdrups hus (Library building). This is only for Thu 2 Nov.

Due to the presentation of Ted Miguel from UC Berkeley "Climate, conflict and economic development: The next 50 years", Thursday October 19th, at 14:15-15:30 in Auditorium 1, Several students have expressed a wish to attend that lecture, and I found it better to cancel our Thursday lecture since its topic is central to the course and will be postponed to the Monday lecture. This means that the remaining topics of the course as described in the lecture plan will be postponed one lecture ahead.
In the plan for lectures etc. Monday 4 Sept has been put as "no lecture" - which is wrong (correct in the schedule). Instead there is no lecture on Thursday 7 Sept (as written in the schedule). The programme for the Thursday lecture will be taken on Monday 11 Sept.
