The numerical example in Mondays's exercises made one of the answers too difficult. I have posted the exercises with revised numbers.

If you did not do the exercises in preparation for the seminar, I shall give you one more chance: hand your answers in to me on Thursday next. (24). On paper please, as you need to practice drawing diagrams on paper.

If there are difficulties, please mail me to make an appointment.

I am most grateful that you accept my dog. (But please mail me or tell me direct if you change your mind). Meanwhile: his name is Zolo, he is 3 years old, and belongs to an ancient Norwegian breed called Puffin dogs (Lundehund). The name is because they were used to catch puffin birds (lundefugl) in the Norwegian archipelago of Lofoten. Now, puffins are a protected species here in Norway, so the dogs are unemployed.

The book The Spirit Level by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett argues that a more equal society is better for everyone. It has created a great del of both admiration and criticism. I have posted web addresses of the authors and of one critic; more will follow, I hope.
