Exams: from fall 2009 and onward, all previous exams are relevant as preparation for the 2012 exam. Kjetil
For today's seminar group (regarding the typo in the problem set): I have uploaded a very short note for the answer to question 11 to avoid any extra confusion due to the typo. Tord
Typo in the problem set: In question 11, it says that the real wage is countercyclical in RBC models and procyclical in the data. This is not correct, it should be the other way around. An updated problem set is uploaded.
Slide set for tomorrow's lecture is uploaded. In addition, problem set for the last seminar week is also uploaded. Seminars will be next week. We will also have the last lecture next week (on Friday November 23). Plan is to give a (very limited) summary of the course.
Someone forgot a black scarf today. You can pick it up at my office (1113). Tord
IMPORTANT: We will have a lecture this upcoming Friday (November 2), although this date is left out of the lecture plan.
I am sorry, but I need to correct some of the slides to Lecture 13 + how it was presented that you should solve a stochastic RBC model in this week's seminar. Under "Lecture notes" you will find a handout on optimization that gives a brief explanation which hopefully is clarifying for you. Tord
To those who want more exercises: Go to the course website for the fall semester 2011. There you find last year's seminar problems with answers. Many of the problems can be relevant to look at.
Sorry for the late notice, but there is a new change to the lecture plan: On Friday we will cover "Alternative theories", while Consumption Asset Pricing is postponed until October 26. This means that Cooley (1997) and Hartley, Hoover and Salyer (1997) are suggested readings for the Friday THIS week.
Readings for October 26 are Cooley (1997) and Hartley, Hoover and Salyer (1997). Both papers can be downloaded here . You may also benefit from looking at Romer's chapter on traditional Keynesisan theories of fluctuations.
Some of you have asked for more exercises. We have uploaded one exercise on the Ramsey model (see the section "Exercises). This is intended for those who still feel a bit uncomfortable with that model.
A make-up seminar for those who showed up for seminar last Friday will be on Thursday September 20, 16:15-18:00. Place: room 201 Harriet Holters hus.
Starting next seminar week, seminar #4 will be held on Thursdays 16:16-18:00 in room 201. There will NOT be a seminar on Fridays.
Slides for tomorrow's lecture are now posted. See you in the morning. Tord
