This is an invitation to participate in a periodic course evaluation for ECON4325 - Monetary policy. The periodic course evaluation comes in addition to the evaluation that has taken place earlier this semester, and is somewhat more extensive. The evaluation is done through an online form, and the deadline for answering is June 6th. Please note that there are some questions concerning the exam. We recommend that you wait with answering this form until after the exam.

The seminar presentations have been uploaded. The seminar 1 package includes the NB and Fed presentations given at seminar 5. The seminar 2 package is updated to seminar 4 only. I will update the packages right after the seminars on 2, 7 and 10 May.
NB: Being the authors of the presentations you have formed parts of your own exam material. Based on these presentations an exam question will be born. This question will present a hypothetical situation where you will take on the role as a central banker who, based on the information presented, will have to write a short essay (minimum 3 and maximum 5 pages) with a recommendation to the Governor. The essay will be given around 20 % weight on the exam.

For the Thursday seminar group, both seminar 5 and seminar 6 have new dates:
- Seminar 5 will be held on Thursday 2 May from 0815-10 am in HH101
- Seminar 6 will be held on Friday 10 May from 0815-10 am in Auditoriom 2, ES.
The lecture with Harald Magnus Andreassen scheduled for Friday 22 March at 0815 has been cancelled due to illness.
NB! The loss function criterion 4 "t-1" subscript has been corrected in all loss function appearences in lecture 8. The correct subscript should be "t".
Lecture 8 is finally on the web! I am sorry for the delay, tomorrow you may look forward to brand new monetary policy stuff from today's monetary policy report publication!

NB! The lecture plan and reading list have been slightly changed (lecture 8). Lecture 8 will give a more detailed coverage of monetary policy in Norway, including recent changes and debate. The more general ECB coverage is therefore dropped.
Lecture 7 and seminar exercise 4 are now on the web. NB: After next week, we slow down for 4 weeks so then you have time to catch up. I therefore strongly suggest that you pause your catching up for now and start the preparations for lecture 7: Read the paper and the slides (some paper sections can be skipped, see slides) prior to the lecture, then work with the seminar exercise based on what you have learned from the paper/slides/lecture.
The excel sheet with solutions is now posted on the webpage. The more you play around with it, the more you learn. Feel free to add shocks to any equation as well as components to the interest rate rule to study impulse responses of shocks.
Permanent change of place - seminar 2: Seminar 2 on Thursdays 0815-10 has been permanently moved to room Harriet Holter 101.
NB: A sign typo for matrix C in seminar exercise 3, page 2 has been corrected. The corresponding excel sheet has been updated with some more information.

An updated version of lecture 3 with solutions for the slides we did on the blackboard during the lecture is now available.
