Exercise no. 2 for seminar no. 6 was a bit confusing. A revised version is now available as a separate file under Teaching Material. I am sorry (DL).
The final lecture is Tuesday 17 November at the normal time and place. The final seminar is on Friday 20 November at 8:15-10 in seminar room 201, the Harriet Holter building (as announced previously here ).
In the subsequent week, the exam week, my office hours are different from normally. I will be available Tuesday 24 November 15:00-16:30 and Wednesday 25 November 9:30-11, but not in the normal time Tuesday 11-12:30.
This is an invitation to participate in a periodic course evaluation for ECON4510.
The evaluation is done on the internet (open from november) and the deadline for giving your answer is Desember 11th. Please note that there are questions concerning exams, so preferably you should not answer this form until after your exam. Your answer will be anonymous.

A list of relevant problems from previous exams is now available.
A complete plan for the lectures is now available here. Suggested solutions for the first extra problem set are available in Fronter.
Unfortunately, our seminar room has an old version of Microsoft Word (as we saw on 21 Sep). Suggested answers to seminar exercises could either be in .pdf format or in the old (.doc) Word format, not in .docx format. If you use the newer Word version to produce a seminar file, you can save it in the old format.
Apart from the seminar exercises, you will not receive written comments to answers to problem sets. However, there will be some extra problem sets for self study, and suggested solutions will be made available. The first one has just been posted, to keep you active in the lecture free week, 28 Sep. - 2 Oct.
Contact students are Mahta Souri (mahtas@econ.uio.no, mahta.souri@gmail.com) and Marius Parmann (marius.parmann@gmail.com). Other students may contact these two in case of suggestions or complaints concerning the course.
Office hours this week (D.L.): No office hours on Tuesday 8 Sept. due to the Schweigaard lecture by K?re Willoch on that day at 11:00 hrs. Instead I will be avialable the next day, Wednesday 9 Sept., 11:00-12:30.
Location of the seminars: Mondays 10:15-12 we will meet in seminar room 101 in the Harriet Holter building (not room 150 as previously announced). This starts on 7 September (see message of 1 September). The last meeting, 8:15-10 on Friday 20 November, will take place in seminar room 201.
There will only be one seminar group. The group will meet six times, five times on Mondays at 10:15-12, on 7 Sept., 21 Sept., 12 Oct., 26 Oct., and 9 Nov., and the sixth time on Friday 20 Nov. at 8:15-10. The locations (seminar rooms in the Harriet Holter building) will be announced here soon - please check back - this may not be the same rooms as previously announced. Seminar exercises (problem sets) will be posted on this website today or tomorrow (Wednesday 2 Sept.) - please prepare for the first seminar by trying to solve the problems.
The department is not going to offer parallel seminars in this course this semester. There will be only one group. There seems to be scheduling problems Fridays 8:15-10, since some students also follow ECON4160. However, the other time slot which was announced, Mondays 10:15-12, seems to be better. ECON4925 will not use that time slot for seminars. The only known possible collisions concern ECON3610/4610 and ECON5300, so the question is: Is anyone going to follow ECON4510 and any of those two courses? If so, please let me (D.L.) know - send an e-mail as soon as possible.
On page 1 of lecture 1 there is mentioned a possible requirement for taking the course, of handing in some assignment. This will not be a requirement after all. Sorry for the confusion.
A revised plan of lectures and seminars (version 2) is now available. There will be no lecture on 29 September.
Lecture notes for lecture 1 (18 August) are now available.
A preliminary plan of this fall's lecture is now available.
It is highly recommended to bring copies of the lecture notes to the each lecture. These notes (in pdf format) are made available on or before 10:00 hrs. on the Friday preceding each lecture.
