Lecture notes 13 is now posted

3 things:

  • First, solutions to seminar 6 and extended solutions to seminar 5 have been posted.
  • Second, typos in lecture note 11-12 have been corrected. Most of them were cosmetics, except that on page 8 the correct market price for the ITQ rho should equal the Pigouvian fee tau and not only the shadow value mu as previously written. Also on page 11, I forgot to insert a minus in the RHS of equation (22), this is corrected now.
  • Third, good luck with the exam preparations and the exam itself!

Seminar 5, Question 1 cannot be solved w/o assuming a specific utility function. What I had in mind (but did not write in the text) was: /U = ln x1 + beta(ln x2 + ln x3)/. Florian

Hi, a note for the next two lectures has been posted. Lecture 9 and 10 will be concerned with Sustainability. The relevant textbook chapters are 3,4, and 19.2. Supplementary literature is discussed in the note. Looking forward to seeing you next Tuesday, Florian

Response to question 19 October from a student concering the topic water use and hydro power economics: It is only the memo No 30/2005 that is required reading, other material mentioned in the reading list is just suggestions if one wants to go deeper into the topic. NB! The lectures are also the curriculum, for those of you that have not followed (all) lectures, check the posted lecture notes.
