At the seminar on 18 Nov, the presentation of Pissarides 2.1-2.3 will be completed, before we proceed to the seminar exercises. Students are expected to have tried to solve exercise 1 and 3 prior to the seminar. The handout for the lecture on 8 Nov will be presented if time allows it.

The article presentations will take place in seminar room 504 in Eilert Sundts hus.

The lecture on 15 Nov, with Espen Moen, is moved to 22 Nov, 10.15-12. There is no lecture on 15 Nov.

Earlier exam questions are now posted under the headline: Supplementary material. These were used for open book exams and students had six hours for the set that comes as number three. At the end of the document there are also two exercises that have been used in earlier years. AR

The classroom exam that is part of the portfolio evaluation will be held on December 19 from 14.30 to 17.30. The article presentations will be on November 14, November 18 and December 12 as agreed with the students. Further details about these will come soon. AR

Alfonso Irarrazabal's lecture on Tuesday 4 October at 10.15 is canceled. There will be two lectures next week instead: Tuesday 11 October at 10.15-12, and on Friday 14 October at 14.15-16.

• I managed a glitch at the end of Monday's lecture: the 'policy update' step is not about updating the value function, but finding the new control. (I let the formula from the value iteration remain on the board, but I should of course have removed the right hand side and replaced 'sup' by 'argsup' or 'argmax'.)

• For actual optimization code: The 2009 version of ECON5160 had Espen Henriksen presenting an Aiyagari-Bewley model. You can go to that course site, or find his presentation together with Matlab code here .

There will only be a one hour seminar on Friday (all teaching closes at 15 that day). Atle will cover problems 12.6.1 and 12.7.1. The seminar has CHANGED VENUE to Room 1220, Eilert Sundt (this only applies for Friday 2 September).

Asbj?rn R?dseth will give a brief introduction to the course Tuesday 23 August 9:30-10 in Auditorium 5 ES. (Immediately before the first lecture, but in a different location).
