PSY9307A – Research seminar: Personality, Genetics and Mental Health I

Course content

An ongoing research seminar under the auspices of a research group at the Department of Psychology, which meets regularly and has a program that is determined for each semester.This is an ongoing seminar, and new participants are accepted each semester.

Each candidate who participates in the Ph.d. program at the Department of Psychology must choose one research seminar and follow it (compulsory part of the programme).?

Learning outcome

Upon completion of the seminars, the candidate will be able to:?

  • Present own research and own research plans in a clear way.
  • Receive and benefit from academic feedback.?
  • Give feedback on other people's research and research plans.?
  • Critically evaluate own and others' research.

Admission to the course

This is a seminar organized by the research group and new participants are accepted every semester.

You can register for the course in Studentweb. You must then register for PSY9307A first (1 semester). If you have completed the 1st semester, register for PSY9307B and if you have completed the 2nd semester, register for PSY9307C.

Contact the administration if you experience problems with registration. Everyone must be registered in Studentweb before the first day of classes.

It is not possible to take this course as a private student.?

Formal prerequisite knowledge

Admission to the Ph.d. programme at the Department of Psychology.

Teaching

Main elements:?

- Active participation in three semesters (PSY9307A, PSY9307B and PSY9307C give 5 credits in total).

- Presentation of project (preferably first semester, but can also be carried out in later semesters).

Examination

Requirements: Active participation with presentation is required, and continuous participation over at least 3 semesters is required.

Assessment: 5 credits after following the seminar for three semesters. In Studentweb, 3 different codes related to the seminar will appear:

930X - A: participation 1st semester and presentation of project

930X - B: participation 2nd semester

930X - C: participation 3rd semester

As well as mid-term evaluation.

All elements must be approved by the seminar leader for the candidate to obtain 5 credits (ECTS).
