There are 12 lectures and 7 seminar sessions in the Spring 2020.
The first seminar is a preliminary introduction class followed by 6 seminars with presentations. Each student are expected to have written a short position-/summary paper of around 500 words before each of the 6 seminars, in which they take a contemporary issue or example from their experience or from the media and discuss it in light of the topics discussed in the lecture and the readings.
The minimum requirement is to submit 5 out of 6 papers in Canvas by a specified time before the seminars. Students are required to be prepared to present a short (5-minute) presentation in class on the topic and to be prepared to answer questions following the presentation. Those who are unable to attend class in person will be able to record a presentation to upload on Canvas.
All students must have made at least one oral presentation in class or by uploaded recording. Dates for oral presentations will be randomly allocated on Canvas at the start of the semester.
