UTFORSK
The UTFORSK partnership programme aims to link educational activities with ongoing research cooperation between Norway and the BRICS countries and Japan, and from 2020 also USA, Canada and South Korea.
Eligible partner countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Japan, USA, Canada and South Korea.
From 2020 UTFORSK includes the former funding schemes InternAbroad, Partnership Program with North America, and the The Nordic Russian Cooperation programme.

The Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART)
NORPART supports academic partnerships and two-way student mobility with an emphasis on Master and PhD level.
Eligible countries: Selected countries in the Global South and Norway.
Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad)
The Norwegian Programme for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED)
NORHED is a programme for capacity building in developing countries in cooperation with Norwegian higher education institutions. Projects include joint research, PhD training, and development of educational programmes in the Global South.

Eligible countries: Countries listed on the OECD DAC list of ODA recipients.
Nordic funding
The Nordic countries have several joint programmes for funding cooperation and mobility in research and education. The Baltic countries can participate in most of the activities.
Eligible countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

European funding
Horizon 2020
Norway participates fully in the EU Horizon 2020 programme for cooperation in research and innovation. UiO has been particularly successful in obtaining ERC grants. Read about UiO's Horizon 2020 projects and ERC projects.
Erasmus+
Norway participates fully in the EU Erasmus+ programme for cooperation in education and training. Some Erasmus+ funding is managed by the Norwegian national agency Diku. The programme supports mobility and cooperation projects. Some activities are only for European countries, while others are open for partner countries outside Europe.
EEA grants
EEA grants and Norway grants are programmes for cooperation between the EEA/EFTA countries (Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein) and 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.
