Editorial: New year, new opportunities
“The new year is now well under way, and there’s lots going on, with teaching, research, administrative work and meetings taking place all around the faculty,” says Dean Hanne Flinstad Harbo.

A boost for diversity, equality and inclusion at MED
The faculty's Action Plan for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is now in place. The faculty’s LIM committee and Helsam’s working group on racism, discrimination and health are now organising a seminar to discuss ways forward. Come to the seminar and have your say. Medical student Julie Ytre-Eide, who also works at the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE), writes about her experiences from her exchange at the University of Gothenburg this autumn.

The UiO Winter Activities Day, Thursday February 15th, 2024. The winter activities day is an annual event, organized by UiOBIL, and offered to all employees of UiO. Participation on the day must be registered and approved by the nearest supervisor.

IMB: Putting animals to sleep can give veterinarians suicidal thoughts. Helene Seljenes Dalum has carried out research on what causes veterinarians to have suicidal thoughts. In June, she completed her doctorate at IMB, which brought her a little nearer to discovering the reasons behind the statistics.
