Important:
The guidelines below only apply if your email account is NOT in MS365. All accounts at UiO will be migrated there in the fall of 2024. If you are unsure whether your email is in MS365, you can check it as follows:
Go to →outlook.office.com. If you see a login window and can log in, you have been migrated. If you are asked to click on a link to be redirected, you have not been migrated.
Important! This service requires two-factor authentication (see this guide for setting up two-factor authentication if you have not already set it up).
- On your iPhone/iPad, go to Settings, and select Mail.
- Choose Accounts and choose Add Account.
- Choose that you want to set up a Microsoft Exchange account.
- Enter your email address on the form yourusername@uio.no.
- Give the account a suitable description (for instance Exchange, Work or UiO), click Next.
- Click Sign in to let Microsoft automatically detect your Exchange setup.
- A Microsoft window appears. Make sure it says your username@uio.no and click Next.
- Enter your UiO password.
- Approve sign-in request by entering the number you see in the Authenticator app (number matching), or by writing in a six digit code.
- A link is made between your e-mail and calendar setup with Apple Internet Accounts, so that two-factor authentication can be required. Click Continue.
- Remove the checkmark if there are services / applications you do not want to use. Finish by clicking Save.
Apple Mail and Calendar will now download all email and calendar data before the applications are ready to use.
