Note! If you already use Outlook, you can access the guide by going to the menu Outlook and Settings... .
-
Start Outlook. The first time the program starts, you are asked to set up an e-mail account. Click Add Email Account and follow the wizard.
-
Enter your e-mail address in the form username@uio.no. Then click Continue.
-
Outlook attempts to set up your email account automatically. To be able to do this, Outlook asks you for permission for mail.uio.no to configure your e-mail account. Tick Always use my response for this server and then click Allow.
-
Select the account you want to authenticate with. Normally, it will be the account username@uio.no.
-
Enter your password and click Sign in.
-
You will now be asked for two-factor authentication, and if you use Microsoft Authenticator, you will be asked to do a number matching.
-
Bring up Microsoft Authenticator on your phone and enter the two-digit number that appears. Make sure the request came from Microsoft Office and confirm by clicking Yes.
-
Back in Outlook and its Accounts window, you can change your Email address from username@uio.no to your primary address and you also want Account description to e.g. UiO. Finish by clicking on Show All and then by closing the window.
