Dear Colossus-users,
due to a security bug in the configuration of the export of the BeeGFS filesystem from Colossus to the TSD disk, the submission to cluster is not possible at the moment and the BeeGFS disk is not accessible (/cluster/project/pXX). The jobs that are running at the moment will still run, and the outputs will be found in the /cluster/project/pXX area, once it will be enabled again. We are aiming at solving the security issue as soon as possible. You will receive more info tomorrow around noon.
We apologise for the inconvenience.

Francesca

Dear TSD-users,
on the 11/05-2015 we had a hardware failure of one DELL hosts. All the machines on that host went down and immediately rebooted on an other of the available host. But the view server was down for one hour and the users could not login to windows machines via PCoIP. Linux VMs were all the time available via the thinlinc protocol.
The problem was caused by an hardware failure and we are now in contact with the vendor to discuss the incident and possibly have the host replaced.
We apologize for the inconvenience,
Regards,
Francesca

Dear TSD-users,
The Filelock service is down at the moment due to the announced maintenance. The open sessions will be killed. We strongly advice not to import/export anything while your session is still open as this might result in the failure of the import/export operations. The service will be back in production around 11:00 CEST. Please follow the operation here!

Dear TSD-users,
in order to set in production the new solution for Colossus we need to restart the Thinlinc linux virtual machines, namely the linux machine that are accessible via the Thinlinc protocol. This was not planned but turned out to be necessary. The restart is scheduled for today 11/04 at 18:00 p.m. The linux machines will be accessible again after the reboot. The /cluster/pXX partition will not be visible until after the reboot. The submission to cluster will be available only from tomorrow 12/04 from 11:00 am CEST.
For more information please check our operational log:
/tjenester/it/forskning/sensitiv/log/
We apologise for having extended the maintenance stop of Colossus.

Dear TSD-users,
the problem is SOLVED and the login to TSD windows VM via PCoIP is available.
Due to a problem connected with the certificate of the Access Point server, the PCoIP login to TSD windows machine is available. Login to the windows servers will be therefore only possible vis ssh+RDP connection (http://www.uio.no/tjenester/it/forskning/sensitiv/hjelp/brukermanual/ssh-og-rdp/index.html). However be aware that the ssh+RDP connection will only work if you did “Log off" from your last session opened with PCoIP. If you didn't, please contact tsd-drift@usit.uio.no.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Francesca
Dear TSD-users,

Enjoy TSD: it is safe!

Please check the operational log for up-to-date info during the morning.
