Course content
The course gives an introduction to various forms of satire in English literature.
Learning outcome
Students are expected to master various satirical texts and to develop skills in exploring them critically in light of relevant scholarship. Students are encouraged to develop skills in close literary analysis and an understanding of texts which reflects knowledge of cultural and historical contexts.

Prerequisites
Formal prerequisite knowledge
A good proficiency in written and oral English.
Overlapping courses
This course overlaps with ENG2331 – Satire (discontinued).
Teaching
The course is taught throughout the semester with 2 hours per week.
Examination
Evaluation will be based on a term paper of ca. 10 standard pages. The draft will be assessed by the teacher, and a final version is to be delivered at the end of teaching.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
