1. Thesis topic: due 28 September
This is a short statement of an area that interests you, that you consider writing your thesis about. One to three sentences will suffice. You may change the topic later.
2 and 3. Short essays: due 4 October and 2 November
For each of the essays, you will be given a set of questions. Choose ONLY ONE question, and answer in maximum two pages.
4. Research question: due 14 October
A research question is a sentence ending in a question mark, that will guide your theis work. It needs a little introduction, and may be divided into several sub-questions. No more than one page, however. You may change the question later.
5. Bibliography: due 25 October
A list of earlier research literature relevant to your topic and research question. To be written in the Chicago University Press style, based on the 16th edition of its Manual of Style.
6. Project description: due 24 november
This is the main document, that will form the basis of your thesis. 3-5 pages. This document will be part of your Supervision Agreement with the Department of Media and Communication, and you will be assigned a supervisor based on this document. It should consist of
- working title
- introduction
- research question
- method or theoretical approach (including selection of material or research sample if applicable)
- ethical considerations
- bibliography of earlier research
- project plan with timeline
