Important message concerning the course: As some of you have expressed (thank you very much), new concepts have been introduced in chapter 1, especially for the students who did not have enough background in quantum physics and/or special relativity.
First of all, the various concepts will be used and further developed later in the course, such that you will have the opportunity to grasp and master them.
Second, I count on you to ask questions (either during the lecture or privately). In fact I should not complain as I have been approached by 10 different people up to now. At the beginning of the last lecture we spent 15 minutes or so discussing the invariant mass (vs number of events or cross-section). I will continue doing so in the future.
Third, the exercises at the end of the lectures are meant to practice and work with those concepts. Among others C,P,T, Feynman diagrams, range of interactions, units, ... will be dealt with in next week's session about chapter 1. You will also practice relativistic kinematics (Appendix B).
Good luck
