Learning outcome

The course offers an introduction to the modern theory of dynamical systems. The students will learn to analyze non-linear systems described by maps and differential equations and get familiar with the concepts of chaos and fractals.

Admission

Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.

If you are not already enrolled as a student at UiO, please see our information about admission requirements and procedures.

Teaching

There will be 6 hours education a week, 3 hours lectures and three hours tutorial lectures. Towards the end of the course, each student will pick a subject for a written project that will be defended at a final oral exam.

Examination
