On April 5 and April 12 (9:15 - 12:00!!)  two lectures will be given will be given respectively by 

Dr. James Catmore, The physics of the top quark

Dr. Eirik Gramstad, Introduction to Supersymmetry, searches at LHC

As Project 3, follow-up on the hands-on given by Dr. Magnar Bugge on February 15 to analyse data from the ATLAS experiment at the LHC (ATLAS data portal). Start by rediscovering the Standard Model Particles (W, Z, Higgs, Top quark, ...) and get prepared for searches for new physics (Z', W', Supersymmetry, Graviton resonances, ...) to prepare the final project.

We will first finish the 8th lecture - introduction to the Standard Theory of particle physics. This will most probably happen remotely, but, please meet at the usual place / usual time. 

Use the second part to work on Project 2. Questions are welcome before, during and after the session. 

Bring your laptop to the class. This is mandatory. Before hand try to install comphep (in case the link does not work, just google it) and the ATLAS data portal tools. See "Timeplan" for further details.
