Revised lecture plan
Unless otherwise announced, lectures on Wednesdays will now be cancelled. See revised lecture plan (9.4.13).
Oblig 2
This is Oblig.1. Deadline Friday 15th March.
The CTD data for Malm?ykalven are clearly erroneous. Group 1 should use data for Oksvaldflua.
For the field report, calculate the hydrostatic pressure at 60 m depth (not at 70 m), from the CTD data.
Here are CTD files in txt (ascii) format. Only use data for your own group. Density is 1000+sigma-t. Deadline for the field report becomes Wednesday 27th February.
Here are data from the ST and the heat budget readings. All cruise participants have to make their own personal reports. Data from the CTD needs some processing and will probably be ready on Monday. Note that the ship sensor recording quanta irradiance has weakened through the years, and the reading should be multiplied by 1.13 to compensate for this.
The text to read in GEF2610 consists of two parts: (1) Pickard and Emery, Descriptive Physical Oceanography, Excerpts; (2) S?len and Aas, Lecture Notes in Physical Oceanography. The first can be obtained at the university book store Akademika, the second will be handed out at the lectures.
