Question:
Use the information in the textbook (chap. 24 and 25) and explain the fate of the food (i.e. plant material) which is digested in the rumen of a cow.
Explain in as much biochemical detail as possible the role of microorganisms in the process; what they do and which products they form.
In which steps in the carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle and sulfur cycle does the cow play a role?
