...
The results are now available in Devilry,
https://devilry.ifi.uio.no/
Those who did not pass, are given a new (and last) chance by Wednesday May 8, 2:30 p.m. Your solution sets will be available from Thursday (April 18) at the 7th floor of the Math. Building. Follow signs.
NOTE: "No feedback" in Devilry means that your solution set has not been approved (so far). Then you should pick up your solution set as described above.
On Monday March 15 we will complete our lectures from EP Chapter 5.
On Friday (March 19) we will start on Optimal Control Theory (SSS Chap. 12 or Chap. 3 of the lecture notes).
See the "Course Schedule" listed on the left side this page for more details.
Comment on Exercise 11.3.3 of SSS: In the case T=4, the function x^ suggested in the book is not differentiable at t=2. Try instead the function x(t)=b sin(πt/4) which is twice differentiable.
Last edit of the lecture notes
was on February 26, 2013.
Next we will start on convex and concave functions of several variables and on the Calculus of Variations. See the book of Syds?ter et al., or the lecture notes.
Student representative of the course is: Sebastian Ellingsen,

Solution to problem 1.3.32 in EP
Note:The solution was corrected on February 4.
Welcome to MAT 2440, Spring 2012. In the differential equation part of the course we will use the book
Edwards & Penney: Elementary Differential Equations with boundary value problems, 2009 (sixth edition). Upper Saddle River, N.J. Pearson Prentice Hall.
Please, make sure that you get the right version.
The given "Detailed teaching plan" is tentative. There will almost certainly be adjustments and changes as the course proceeds.
