Studies
Lillehammer chosen as study location for UiO
Applicants to the medicine programme at the University of Oslo can spend their final three years at UiO Campus Innlandet in Lillehammer. This will be the second external campus for medicine at UiO. MED was awarded 15 new study places for decentralised medical education in Innlandet in the 2025 state budget.

Positive learning environment,

Students in the Faculty of Medicine are satisfied with many aspects of the learning environment. However, 4 percent report having experienced racism in a teaching context, according to a new survey.

Briefings to our staff

UiO: Rector Election 2025: The election will take place between 24th March and 4th April. At UiO, both staff and students have the right to vote. The general rule is that salaried staff in at least a 50% position, as well as Professor II, have voting rights. Whether you have the right to vote depends on whether you are employed or are a student on the day you cast your vote.
- IMB: Excavation work at Domus Medica: The work on the patient hotel has been delayed, and the pedestrian bridge will be closed for a week.
- Helsam: A legislative change endangering research ethics. Opinion piece in Khrono in Norwegian by Jan Helge Solbakk, Rose Bernabe, Shereen Cox, and S?ren Holm. Norwegian authorities are proposing amendments to the Health Research Act that threaten the research ethics committee system.
MED: Meet with the deanery. Newly appointed professors and associate professors are invited to a informal meeting to get to know the faculty management and build networks at the faculty.

- Instituttlederm?tet: The next meeting is on 18 March. The meetings are held every other Tuesday from 13:30 to 15:30. Agenda papers should be sent by 12:00 on the preceding Thursday.

Nrk/ Helsam: Three diseases could cost the state 100 billion. Together with a team of researchers, Jonas Minet Kinge, professor of health economics at UiO and senior researcher at FHI, has examined which diseases will be the most costly for Norway in the future. At the top of the list are dementia, stroke, and diabetes.
