Queue statistics with charts

By using charts in RT, you can easily create statistics based on different ticket properties.

This guide will walk you through how to create diagrams and add them to your dashboard.

Table of Contents

How to create a diagram

  1. Create a search you want to make statistics from.
  2. Add the search criteria by clicking on Add these terms.
  3. Click on Chart to go to the diagram page:

The image may contain: blue, text, white, screenshot, font.

  4. You will now reach a menu where you will see a simple diagram; below the diagram, you will see some fields. Here you can edit what you want to display in the diagram.
  5. The Group by  field determines what will be displayed on the X-axis. For example, we choose to group tickets by month:

The image may contain: text, font, screenshot.

  6. The Calculate field determines what kind of values the Y-axis will have. Here we can, for example, choose the number of tickets:

The image may contain: font, screenshot.

  7. The Picture field has options for how the diagram should look. We will leave this as a bar chart, but there are several options available. Click on Update chart when you are ready:

The image may contain: blue, white, text, screenshot, font.

You will now see a graph and a table showing the number of created tickets per month in the queue you searched in. It will look similar to this example:

Here you can play around with different values for the X and Y axes!

How to add a diagram to your dashboard

  1. To the right under the diagram, you will see the field Saved charts. Here you can give the chart a description and click Save. Remember to set the visibility to yourself or the group you want.

The image may contain: text, font, screenshot, numbers.

  2. The chart will now be available as a search when you create a dashboard. See the guide for creating dashboards here.

Custom fields and statistics

If your queue has custom fields, this can be very useful for use in statistics. You will then be able to create diagrams based on custom data fields that are specific to your queue.
