Wednesday 1. June is the last group lecture this year. If you wan't me to repeat something from the course, please send a mail to martiert@ifi.uio.no by monday.
Next Wednesday we will go through at least f) and g), as well as show an implementation of the last mandatory assignment. If you wish to get an explanation on other parts, please send me a mail or say it in class next Wednesday.
In the remaining time, we will go through the exam from 2010, which will be published on this page by tomorrow.
Since I'm not able to get back to Oslo by 10.15 tomorrow, I have to cancel the lecure tomorrow.

You can use an approved calculator on the exam.
No lecture on May 16. The lecture on May 23 will be a summary of the curriculum.
On May 2 there will be a trial exam instead of a regular lecture. There are no lectures on April 18 & 25.
Due to sickness there will be no group lecture tomorrow. As always you are free to send me a mail with questions you want answered. Next week I will go through question 7.1 and 7.2, and take some time answering questions from chapter 7, as this seems to be a quite difficult chapter for some of you.
Curriculum
Generally, Chapter 1-9 of the book is on the curriculum.
On the exam, there will only be questions from material that has been taught in the lectures.
In the lectures from Chapter 1-4, we went through everything except Section 4.5, so there will be no questions from that section.
Chapter 5-9 is part of the curriculum, except these sections: 6.1.5, 6.1.6, 6.4, 6.5, 7.2.4, 7.3.3, 7.4.6, 7.5.3, 7.5.5, 7.5.6 8.1.7
Just a remainder that tomorrow we will be at Lisp at 2428 in the computer lab.
Mandatory Assignment No.2 is out. Deadline Noon May 11.
There is an error in the document "Krav til innlevering", the mail address you should send to is martiert@ifi.uio.no, not martiert@leia.ifi.uio.no. Those of you that have sent to leia.ifi.uio.no must send a new mail.
EDIT: Mandatory assignment 1 is project 3.6 from the text book. Information about mandatory assignment 2 will come later on.
March 16th FUI arranges a course in LaTeX for beginners. This course is from 16:00 to 18:00. This course is highly recommended if you wish to learn basic LaTeX, and is therefor relevant for you. For those of you already familiar with the basics, a course is also held for advanced LaTeX users. This is held at march 23. from 16:00 to 18:00. The lecturer for both courses is Dag Langmyhr, which is one of the best in Norway in LaTeX. Both lectures is at smalltalk, and more information can be found on Facebook by searching for "LaTeX for nybegynnere" and "LaTeX for viderekomne", I also think more information will be available at fui.ifi.uio.no
Going forward we will change the group lectures a bit. From now on we will have every third group lecture in a computer lab. Since we had a computer lab yesterday, the next will be 16. March. Then we will have two lectures in Pascal again before another computer lab. The computer lab we will use is Lisp at 2428.
Since there are no available computer rooms for us, we will meet at the normal room, and find a common terminal room where we can sit.
I have added a pdf involving the mandatory assignments which everyone should read. The information here can be ignored for assignment 1 for those of you who have already delivered.
On Wednesday we will be at a computer room. Exactly where is not decided yet, but we might have to go to a larger "terminalstue" if no other rooms are available. During this exercise you can work on and get help with implementations as well as theoretical tasks, and for those of you willing to learn LaTeX I will also be able to help you with that.
For questions and non-anonymous feedback, I would prefer if you sent a mail to martiert@ifi.uio.no instead of using the python script, as there is no way for me to answer you if you are using that script.
I have added a small python script that sends a mail to me (Martin). This is to be used to send anonymous feedback if you don't wish to do it in person. There is currently no login/password on the page, and everyone can use it. But if it's missused to send spam etc. I will change it to include som login system.
February 2nd is the first group lecture. Before that, I hope that you will consider what you wish these to be. What we do in these lectures will be completely up to you, and I hope you have some feedback on how you wish us to start up.
The main question you have to ask yourself is: "How do you learn best?". Also remember that this is not a final decision, and we will change the structure if we see that it is needed. But take some time to reflect on that, so we can make these lectures as productive as possible.
