INF9350 – PhD seminar in intelligent data

Course content

The master seminar in logic treats topics in sematic technology, semantic web, foundational web technologies, databases. The themes will vary from semester to semester depending on the participants and their interests. The seminar alternates with the seminar in logic. It is required 80 % participation.

Learning outcome

The participants will get a better understanding of one or more subjects in the field and get opportunity to write essays and present theoretical material.

Admission

PhD candidates from the University of Oslo should apply for classes and register for examinations through Studentweb.

If a course has limited intake capacity, priority will be given to PhD candidates who follow an individual education plan where this particular course is included. Some national researchers’ schools may have specific rules for ranking applicants for courses with limited intake capacity.

PhD candidates who have been admitted to another higher education institution must apply for a position as a visiting student within a given deadline.

Teaching

The participants present literature, research and own work.

Examination

To be allowed to take the final exam, each student must attend at least 80 % of the seminar meetings.

This course is a seminar, and each Ph.d.-student must give two presentations during the semester. General information about the exam.
