Rules for the use of UiO's premises
Everyone using UiO's premises must adhere to these guidelines.
General rules
- You must obtain physical access to the building and the specific room before the event. Contact the Estate Department to arrange this.
- Using UiO's premises for commercials purposes or rent them out is not permitted. Only the Estate Department has the authority to rent out the premises.
- Those using UiO's premises must familiarise themselves with and adhere to UiO's fire safety policy.
- Food and beverages are not allowed in lecture halls or seminar rooms, only in meeting rooms and cafeterias.
Some of the premises have additional usage regulations that must be followed.
During the event
- It is prohibited to attach items, both permanent and temporarily, to walls, glass surfaces, tape, gum ("l?rertyggis"), glue or any other material that may damage or mark the surface.
- The use of open flame, live candles, smoke machines and all types of pyrotechnics is forbidden.
- Any use of alcohol in UiO's premises must comply with the guidelines for the service of alcohol at UiO.
After the event
- Furniture must be put back in place and waste must be removed.
- Everyone must vacate the buildings by 2 a.m. Security guards may end events if UiO's security regulations are not followed.
- Any damages must be reported to the Estate Department.
- The organiser is financially responsible for any damages to buildings and inventory.
Guidelines for employees using UiO's premises
Organiser's responsibilities
- Rooms at UiO should normally be reserved for work-related purposes.
- If you wish to borrow premises outside of regular opening hours, you must apply for this. Use the form S?knadsskjema for bruk av undervisningsrom for ansatte (only in Norwegian).
- If anything is wrong with the room itself or the technical equipment, report it to the room owner.
UiO's responsibilities
The units are responsible for
- controlling reservations in their own rooms
- ensuring that information about the room, such as capacity, equipment, ec. is up to date
- ensuring that the room is in proper condition
The Estate Department is responsible for
- the overall responsibility for the rooms at UiO and their usage
- updating room information as requested by the units
- approving applications from external organisers, student organisations and all use after 9 p.m. and on weekends
Teaching rooms
- For teaching rooms such as lecture halls and seminar rooms, teaching activities have priority for bookings. Teaching rooms are closed for general bookings until planning for the upcoming term is complete.
- Certain activities, such as conferences, can be preregistered before rooms are available for general bookings. Read more about planning a conference (only in Norwegian).
