How to log in to the printer?
- Go to the printer and wake it up from sleep mode if necessary
- When the printer is on, you will be greeted by the login screen:

- Log in with card or username and password
- To log in with your card, hold it over the reader at/on the printer. You will be logged in automatically.
- You can also log in with your UiO username and password by tapping the empty fields and entering your details as shown below:

- Then press "Log In"
- You don't need to press "Log In" if you are logging in with your card.
How to retrieve prints?
- Log in to the printer
- Log in using your card or by entering your UiO username and password.
- Examples of card readers on the printer:

- Quick print?
- If you have only one document or have multiple documents you want to print at once, you can press the button "Print All".

- Multiple documents, but don't want to print all at once?
- If you have multiple documents in queue and don't want to print them all at once, you can select which documents you want to print by pressing "Release Print".
- Overview of documents ready for printing
- You will then receive an overview of all the documents you have ready for printing.

- Select desired documents to print
- Next, you can choose which documents you want to print simultaneously, do this by checking the documents you want to print in the box(es) on the far left.

- Then press "Print" to print the selected documents.
How to use copy functions on the printer?
- Log in to the printer
- Log in using your card or by entering your UiO username and password.
- Select copy function
- Press "Device Access" when logged in to the printer.

- Confirm your user
- Then confirm that you wish to use the copy function on the printer by pressing "Confirm".

- Select copy function from menu
- To gain access to copy, select "Copy" from the menu.
- You can alternatively place the document you want to copy on the scanner or in the document tray at the top of the printer, then press "Copy" at the bottom-right to copy your document.

- Select desired settings
- Next, you can choose the desired settings to copy your document.

- Then copy your documents
- Once you have chosen the desired settings for the copy, you can copy your documents.
- Place your documents in the scanner on the printer by opening the lid, or place your documents in the document tray at the top of the printer.
- Press "Copy" to copy your documents.
- Log out of the printer
- Remember to log out of the printer when you are done.
- Press the arrow at the top left corner and then select "Log Off" at the top of the screen?
- Forgot to log out? The printer will automatically log you out after a short period.
How to scan to email?
When scanning to email, documents can contain data classified up to 'Restricted' (Yellow). This implies that the content can cause some damage if it becomes known to unauthorized persons. Ensure to protect the integrity and access rights of the information. For more information on data classification at the University of Oslo, click here.
- Log in to the printer
- Log in using your card or by entering your UiO username and password.
- Select scan function
- Select "Scan" from the menu to access scanning your documents.

- Scan or change desired settings
- Place the document you wish to scan on the scanning plate and press "Start".
- Alternatively, you can change the settings for scanning by selecting "Change Settings".

- Change desired settings
- Change the settings as desired and place the document in the scanner.
- Then press "Start" to scan the document.

- Scan the document
- Once you have placed the document in the scanner and optionally changed the desired settings, the document is ready for scanning.
- Press "Start" to begin scanning, then the job of scanning your document will start.

- Scan multiple documents in the same file
- If you have multiple documents you need to scan as a single file, you can do this.
- Ensure that "Build Job / New Document" is checked when you are scanning.
- Start by scanning the first page of the document. Once the first page is scanned, you will be given the option to complete the job or scan more pages.
- To scan more pages into the same file, select "Scan Next Page".

- Send the scanned document to your email
- Once you’re done scanning all documents/pages, you can choose to scan a new document or send the scan to your email.
- To scan a new document, choose "Scan New Document".
- To send the scan to your email, choose "Done".

- The scan is sent to your email
- Once you’re done scanning, the printer will start sending the scan to your UiO email.
- When the printer returns to the main menu or the previous function you were on, the scan should be sent to your email.
- Check your email to access the scanned document.

How to scan to a USB drive?
When using a USB drive, you can store documents containing data classified up to 'Confidential' (Red). Be aware that red data can cause significant harm if it becomes known to unauthorized persons or is unintentionally altered. Therefore, ensure to protect the information and control access rights carefully. For more information on data classification at the University of Oslo, click here.
- Insert USB drive and log in to the printer
- Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the printer and then log in using your card or by entering your UiO username and password.
- Select device access
- Select "Device Access" when logged in to the printer.

- Confirm your user
- Then confirm the device access on the printer by pressing "Confirm".

- Select scan function from the menu
- To gain access to scanning, select "Scan" from the menu.

- Select scan to USB
- From the scanning menu, select "Scan to USB Drive".

- Perform the scan
- Place the document you want to scan in the document feeder or on the scanner plate.
- To start the scan, select the green button labeled "Save".
- If you want to change the name of the file, this is done by selecting the field under "File Name".
- If you want to customize the file for the document being scanned, this can be done by pressing "Options" at the bottom left.

- Option to retain settings
- When you press "Save" to start the scan, you will have the option to retain the settings you have set for the next job.
- If you are scanning multiple documents and want the same settings, choose "Retain", then the same settings will be applied to the next document you scan.
- If you want to change the options for the next document, select "Remove" and then change to the options you want for the next job.
- Standard is to choose "Retain".

- Wait until the scan is complete
- Once you have pressed "Save" to start the scan and made a choice for settings for the next job, the printer will start to scan to the USB drive.
- Wait until the paper icon at the top right corner is gone, then the scan is complete and saved to the USB drive.

- Once the scan is complete, you can remove the USB drive and log out of the printer.
