Pensum/l?ringskrav

The course consists of two parts: Part 1: Numerical Linear Algebra and Part 2: Interpolation/approximation theory and numerical quadrature. Most of these topics build on those of the Bachelor course MAT3110. Many of the topics will be covered by the book: A Concise Introduction to Numerical Analysis by A. C. Faul, published by Chapman and Hall.

Several of the topics in the second part of the course are covered in Analysis of Numerical Methods by Isaacson and Keller, published by Dover.

Otherwise electronic lecture notes will be made available.

Another relevant book is Numerical Methods in Scientific Computing, Volume 1 by G. Dahlquist and ?. Bjorck, published by SIAM.
