There is a difference between a chat and a conversation. Chat is a written dialog with a selection of persons that you wished to include. The content of the chat is only visible for you and those you are chatting with. A chat is independent of whether the participants are in a team or not. Conversations work within a team and functions as a reference wall for all the members of the team.
Start a new chat
In the menu selection to the left you will find a button called Chat.
You start a new chat by clicking on New Chat at the top right over the chatlist. To start a new chat all you have to do is add the name of the member(s) you want to have a chat with, and then write your message in the text field.
When a chat is created you will also get the opportunity to send messages automatically, share files, and create a sound or video call with the participants in the chat.
Continue a previous chat
In stead of starting a new chat, you can click on your bookmarked (Pinned) chats, and write a new message, or go one of your ealier chats that you have parttaken in (Recent). These chats are shown in chronologocal order.
Click on a chat and you will see the history of the selected chat.
