After some digging around and a discussion over at Piazza, we've come up with a way to run Emerald on PlanetLab. You will find an up-to-date list of machines on the Working with Emerald page.
If you have the time, go ahead and test your Kilroy. Given that the deadline is a couple hours away, this is clearly not a requirement :-)
For now the list looks as follows:
- cse-white.cse.chalmers.se (Gothenberg, Sweden)
- cse-yellow.cse.chalmers.se (Gothenberg, Sweden)...
Because of problems with Planetlab, oblig1 has been reduced -- see oblig 1version 2 on the web site.
Oleks is working on a work-around - or a real solution - for Oblig2.

Dear IN5570 students,
We've run into some trouble in getting Emerald programs to run on PlanetLab. As we work to sort out these issues, you can ignore the very last part of Oblig1, which asks you to run your code on machines at a distance. You should still modify the kilroy program, and run it locally. Be wary of the difference between the move-to and fix-at constructions. What are their relative benefits and pitfalls? Which should kilroy use?
The goal of today's exercise is to help you finish Oblig 1.
Among other things, we will discuss what you should include in your report (i.e, "PDF with any comments that you have on the three exercises").

As with hiho, the previously published version of kilroy was written for an earlier version of Emerald. You will find an updated version of kilroy next to the Oblig.
Please modify this version of kilroy in your submission for Oblig 1, or let us know if you (for some reason) chose to use the older version instead.

- Sign up for, and get started with PlanetLab.
- Write a couple basic distributed programs in Emerald.
- Get some practice with Emerald synchronization primitives.

A warm welcome to Distributed Objects.
Because I am on a trip to the USA, the first lecture is scheduled for Thursday January 24th, 2019 14:15 - 16:00 in OJD 2458 Postscript - that is, there is NO LECTURE on January 17th, 2019.
The TA sessions/Hjelpel?rertimer will start January 28th, 2019 - note that this is one week later than stated in the original schedule.
