30-Day Notification and Data Export
- We will notify the PI 30 days before the project’s scheduled end date.
- During this 30-day period, it is the responsibility of the PI to export any necessary data from TSD. We strongly recommend encrypting the data before exporting it.
Project Extension Option
- If an extension is required, please submit a formal request to the appropriate data protection authority (e.g., REK, Datatilsynet, etc.).
- After submitting the extension request, inform us so that we can provide temporary access to the project for an additional 30 days while waiting for approval.
End of Project and Quarantine Process
On the project’s end date, access to TSD services will be revoked for all users. Once the project enters quarantine, the following actions will be taken:
- All virtual machines will be shut down.
- Any active jobs running on Colossus will be terminated.
Data Deletion Process
After the 30-day standstill period, if no extension has been approved and no documentation has been provided, the file systems on both TSD and Colossus disks will be permanently deleted.
Backup Availability and Final Data Removal
The latest version of the backup will be stored and available for an additional 90 days. Access to the backup requires legal clearance. After the 90-day backup period, all backup files and electronic keys will be permanently deleted.
If no action is taken by the PI within the defined periods, all project data will be deleted according to the timeline outlined above.
