Before you start, you need an authentication app on your mobile that generates one-time codes. There are many such apps, but we recommend Microsoft Authenticator.
- Download and install Microsoft Authenticator for your mobile phone. Download from the App Store (iPhone) or from Google Play (Android)
- Download and install Google Authenticator for your mobile phone. Download from the App Store (iPhone) or from Google Play (Android)
To access two-factor authentication for signing in to Educloud, you must set up a one-time code generator for your account. This is done by scanning a QR code that you will receive via the self service portal in Educloud.
- Go to the self service portal (selfservice.educloud.no)
- Under Your Personal Data, click OTP.
- Log in with Educloud username, password, and OTP or ID-porten.
- If you do not have ID-porten but need a new one-time code, contact the project administrator.
- Click Set new OTP.
- You will now see a page with a QR code.
- Open the authentication app on your mobile.
- If you have not used the app before, tap Get started.
- If you are already using the authentication app, tap the plus icon (+) in the top right corner to add a new connection/two-factor code.
- Select Other (Google, Facebook, etc.). Your mobile's camera will now open.
- Scan the QR code that appears in your browser on your PC.
- The two-factor code for Educloud will then be added to the bottom of the list in the authentication app (the name may vary).
- The authentication app generates a new one-time code every 30 seconds.
