Forgotten, lost or stolen telephone and two-factor authentication (2FA)

Forgotten telephone

If two-factor authentication is required and you forgot or left your phone at home, then you must contact Helpdesk for IT services at UiO.

Lost or stolen telephone

If you have lost your mobile phone or it has been stolen, then you must contact Helpdesk for IT services at UiO.

Helpdesk can make the needed updates to your account. After your settings have been deleted, you will be asked to register for to-factor authentication the next time you log on.

New telephone

If you have received a new phone, then the authentication app must be configured with a code generator:

  1. Some of the approved authentication apps at UiO supports backup and you can load the backup on the new phone with the authentication app.
  2. You can install to-factor authentication from scratch, by following the guide on how to reset two-factor authentication.
